In the summer of 2002, the Lord called a group of youth from a Romanian Church in Chicago to start On Call for Christ, a ministry dedicated to service and discipleship. The group began conducting outreaches through various churches in the Chicago area, and in the summer of 2004, they conducted a mission trip to Romania serving through evangelistic outreaches and service projects. Since then, On Call for Christ has been committed to serving the Lord Jesus Christ through various local outreaches and mission trips both to Harsova, Romania and the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

The name comes from the idea of medics on the battlefield who risk their lives to save lives. As they are on-call, so we are “on-call” for our Lord Jesus Christ, ready to go forth into the battlefield as He calls us to heal and save lives with the gospel. We are not sure at this point exactly how the Lord will continue to build the ministry, but we do know for sure that wherever we serve we must be committed to making disciples. As the Holy Spirit leads, we plan to continue serving in Romania and South Dakota and to continue developing those ministries for the glory of God.
